Mateu Bauzà (Palma, 1950) is part of a generation for which painting becomes, not so much a way of understanding life, but life itself. A calm, methodical man, true to himself and theorist of the most refined abstraction, Mateu Bauzà (graduated in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona and a doctorate from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona) began his activity from the beginning of the 70s to the present, in which his individual exhibitions stand out in the most important galleries on the island such as Sala Pelaires, Joan Oliver «Maneu», Ca'n Puig, Bennàssar, Pep Llabés, 6a, Casal Solleric and the Sa Nostra Cultural Center, as well as other statewide exhibitions such as Galería Sen, El Coleccionista and Pilar Mulet in Madrid. As for collective exhibitions, its presence stands out in several editions of the ARCO fair, Art Frankfurt, Sala Parés, Chicago International Art, Expo 92 Sevilla, Art Àsia (Hong Kong), among others.
